Roots of American Music
We provide music education for Montessori Schools in Northeast Ohio.
Elementary Music (grades 1-3)
Roots of American Music provides teaching artists to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students for 50-minute classes across 26 weeks during the classroom teacher’s specified class time. Through music students will learn rhythm, circle dances, and games to enhance social and emotional learning, interaction with others, and connect physically through the sound and rhythm of music.
Intermediate Music (grades 4 & 5)
Roots of American Music provides teaching artists to 4th & 5th grade students for 50-minute classes across 15 weeks during the classroom teacher’s specified class time. Through music instruction with guitar or ukulele, students learn how to physically and vocally warm-up for singing, they sing as a group within an age-appropriate music history curriculum, create movement matching lyrics, and work in peer groups to learn key signatures, notes, and chords.
